You can share what #BuckeyeLove means to you throughout the day on Monday, February 5 in the Keith B. Key Center for Student Leadership and Service lobby on the second floor of the Ohio Union. There will be a large board and plenty of markers – all you need to bring is your #BuckeyeLove! The campaign is designed to encourage students, faculty and staff to talk about what you love and appreciate about Ohio State and what the university means to your life.

SAARC-Student Affairs Assessment and Research Conference 2018


Are you interested in learning how to improve your assessment skills and exploring cutting edge research on the student experience? Join the 8th annual Student Affairs Assessment and Research Conference (SAARC) on Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Ohio Union. Presented by the Office of Student Life, this year's theme will be Giving Voice: Designing Inclusive Assessment. The conference keynote speaker is Dr. Dafina-Lazarus Stewart of Colorado State University. SAARC is aimed at faculty, staff and students with all levels of experience. University Staff Advisory Committee on a solid background


The University Staff Advisory Committee is collecting items for the “Hungry Hearts” Food Supply drive in support of the Buckeye Food Alliance. The drive will take place from Monday, February 12 through Friday, February 16, 2018, with several donation locations on campus. The Buckeye Food Alliance is a student-run nonprofit, on-campus food pantry committed to providing a variety of nutritious food options to Ohio State students who are food insecure. STEP-Second-year Transformational Experience program


The Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP) Expo will be held in the Archie M. Griffin Grand Ballroom at the Ohio Union on Tuesday, February 13. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend and see the transformational experiences that STEP students are engaging in through creative and artistic endeavors, education abroad, internships, leadership, service-learning and community service and/or undergraduate research. Dr. Leah Halper, interim assistant director in the Center for the Study of Student Life, recently published a chapter titled "Self-Efficacy” in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology’s Organization Frontiers series The Self at Work. The chapter examines fundamental concepts and theories related to self-efficacy and how self-efficacy contributes to employee engagement, feedback-seeking and leadership.

Ohio State Welcome Leaders with OWLs forming O-H-I-O


Student Life Residence Life is currently looking for two exceptional student leaders to serve as Co-Chairs for the 2018 Ohio State Welcome Leader Program. These positions offer students the opportunity to demonstrate and further develop outstanding leadership skills. This is a paid position and will work with Residence Life throughout the summer starting in May 2018 and ending after Move-In. Sloopy's Sandwich Club (2018 version)


The 2018 Sloopy’s Diner Sandwich Club is looking for true Buckeyes. This award will honor the people who embody the spirit of Student Life and the Ohio Union and strive to make a difference on campus. Winners will be honored with a Sloopy’s Diner menu item named after them. Nominate a group, co-worker, student employee, alumni, volunteer or anyone you think brings something special to the table. Buckeyes ACT is The Ohio State University’s comprehensive, community-wide approach to combating sexual misconduct through Action, Counseling and Training. Buckeyes ACT to report sexual misconduct, support members and visitors of our community, intervene to prevent sexual misconduct and empower themselves and one another. All members of the university community should become familiar with their responsibilities and available resources. More information is online.

Erica Phillips, interim Assistant Director in the Center for the Study of Student Life, has been selected for two prestigious awards from NASPA. Erica is the recipient of a Research Award by the NASPA Region IV-E Faculty Council for her study: Exploring the Student Perspective: Student Loans and Co-Curricular Involvement. Erica was also selected as the 2018 recipient of the Adult Learners and Students with Children Research Grant from NASPA’s Adult Learners and Students with Children Knowledge Community for her project: Financial Wellness Among Students with Dependent Children. Erica will receive her award next month at the 2018 NASPA Annual Conference in Philadelphia.
