Homecoming 2017


Ohio State’s Homecoming celebration is in two weeks. The 105th annual Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 6 at 6 p.m. It begins at Ohio Stadium and ends at Student Life’s Ohio Union with grandstand seating areas and food along the route on Woodruff and College. The Pep Rally immediately follows at the Ohio Union. Registration is still open for those wishing to ride, walk or enter a float in the parade. More information is online or contact

Sexual Civility and Empowerment Committee


The next Sexual Civility and Empowerment Committee (SCEC) meeting is on Wednesday, October 4, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in RPAC, Meeting Room #3. This open forum is an opportunity to share observations on campus regarding sexual violence prevention and discuss future ways for cross-collaboration among campus partners. Counseling Psychologist journal cover


Student Life Counseling and Consultation Service’s Dr. Jeeseon Park Staltzman has been approved to serve on the Editorial Board for The Counseling Psychologist, the journal of the Society of Counseling Psychology. Her three year term begins in January.  The Counseling Psychologist publishes high-quality, scholarly articles relevant to counseling psychologists, increasing the knowledge base of counseling psychology through thoughtful debate and comprehensive coverage of new and developing areas of research and practice.

The final Student Life Biometric Screening is on October 18, 2017, in the Ohio Union.  For this event you can sign up for your biometric screenings and/or flu shot. Student Life Energy Management and Sustainability is again offering Coca-Cola Student Sustainability Grants.  Grants are awarded for student-led initiatives that support Ohio State's goal to reduce greenhouse gases, conserve resources and promote sustainability. Seed funding of $500 to $15,000 is available to undergraduate, graduate and professional students or student groups for projects that directly contribute toward reduced environmental impacts on campus. Light bulb drawing with "Light up with LED"


Student Life Energy Management and Sustainability is sponsoring the Light Up With LED program. This student-led effort promotes energy efficient practices on campus, allowing students to trade in non-LED bulbs and receive LED bulbs in return. LED bulbs use less energy than other bulbs and last more than twice as long. Students can register online. More information is available online or by emailing

International Town and Gown Association Conference Save the Date; May 29-June 1, 2018


Student Life Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services recently announced that The Ohio State University and the City of Columbus will host the 2018 International Town and Gown Association Annual Conference next spring. The conference will bring together attendees from around the world to discuss the relationship between institutions of higher education and the communities they reside in.
